Now that Blake's a very grown-up 6-year-old, he's rebelled and refused to wear one of mommy's cutsie costumes. He decided that a scary skeleton was the thing to be, and he got to give it a test run for a Halloween costume birthday party last night. Even though he eats and eats, his super metabolism keeps him bony, so this is a very fitting costume for him! I also love the fact that it's actually pajamas, so he'll be able to get some use out of it!
Andy and I went to Blake's school today to volunteer, and we had to make a quick stop at home to get a couple of things at lunchtime. I had left Andy upstairs playing in his room while I went to the kitchen to make him a lunch to take back to school with us. Needless to say, I was in a hurry and wasn't checking up on him like I should have been. When I went back upstairs to get him, I found that he had pulled my makeup bag off of the bathroom counter and had had a LOT of fun! The black stripes on his cheek are eyeliner and of course the lipstick is my brightest shade of red. All I can say is he keeps me humble!
I don't think the lipstick tasted nearly as good as he hoped it would! He was pretty upset when I had to scrub all that gunk off of him. Just FYI, rubbing alcohol pads take lipstick off of cheeks and fingers quite nicely!
Didn't Blake do a great job making these very festive caramel apples? You can tell by the evidence on his face that he thoroughly enjoyed the process (except unwrapping all those caramels...he got tired of that very quickly)!
Can you tell Blake's trying to keep Andy from climbing on the back of the chair? We have such handsome boys...they're getting so big! Thanks, Aunt Amy, for the adorable shirts!
Andy's finally liking his bathtime better and isn't trying to climb out of the tub anymore! He thinks he looks pretty cute with his spiky hair afterward and sometimes tries to comb it that way himself.
